Mam Tor is a 517 m hill near Castleton in the High Peak of Derbyshire, England. Its name means "mother hill", so called because frequent landslips on its eastern face have resulted in a multitude of "mini-hills" beneath it. Wikipedia
Getting to Mam Tor: From Castleton take the main road west up Winnats Pass. At the T-junction turn at the top of the pass, turn right and follow the road round, passing the first turning on the right. The car park is next right. (near Castleton, Derbyshire, S33 8WA)
