Some of you may be interested in what I get up to away from the studio, so here is a look at some of the projects I've been working on this month.
The month started with a trip to the Pirelli Stadium, the home of Burton Albion, where I photographed Burton Albion against Middlesbrough.
I then appeared to spend most of the next few weeks in Burton, at St George's Park to be precise. St George's Park is the Football Association's national football centre. I was there to photograph the Shanghai SIPG youth team play against the youth teams of Fleetwood Town, Stockport County, Rotherham United and Fulham. Shanghai SIPG are one of the premier youth teams in China and are hopeful of becoming the Chinese Olympic football team in 2020.
I also photographed Derby County beat Cardiff City 3-1 and boosting their hopes of reaching the playoffs in the EFL Championship. There was also a trip to cover Doncaster Rovers against Bury, which ended in a 3-3 draw.
The end of the month sees me covering Burton Albion in their crucial fixture against Bolton, with the Brewers needing a to win their remaining two league fixtures to avoid relegation.
It has also been nice to get out for a stroll to capture a few sunsets at Clumber Park. The sunrise/sunset season has started for me and I plan on making the most of it over the summer months.
As things stand, May is going to be one of the busiest months for sporting/event photography that I have had. The month starts with coverage of a number of college football competitions hosted by the Association of Colleges. The games will be held at Walsall, Telford and Port Vale. I will also be photographing three days worth of Tough Mudder events.
May also sees the arrival of baby Wilson number two (three if you include the dog). Busy, busy, busy!
